Hey Girls,
Went to the beach with some friends for a couple days... it was fun! They convinced me to watch Momma Mia which is movie that didn't interest me at all. But it was pretty darn good! Made me wonder about other movies and books that might have been missed. Any body want to share some favorites with the rest of us? Is there a book you read that everyone needs to read? A movie? Share...

There are a few books I have read semi-recently that I would recommend. The first would be "A Thousand Splendid Suns", by Khaled Hosseini. This is a novel set in Afganastan, and Pakistan. It is a haunting story about two women thrown together by circumstance, in a horrible situation. It really helps you to see the plight of women(and men) in that region of the world.
Another book I would recommend would be "New York", by Edward Rutherford. This is a novel set in New York, starting back when it was first inhabited by people, to the present. It is a very accurately thorougly detailed book, one that makes you see exactly what they are writing.(if that makes any sense)

"Wanted to pass along a couple book titles: Boundaries by Cloud and Townsend, Twelve Extraordinary Women by MacArther. Boundaries is about relationships and setting boundaries - may help with the friend issue. 12 Extraordinary Women is about women of the Bible, unfortunately Esther isn't in it. But it helped me understand the lineage of David better and was very fascinating. For fun, incouraging and light reading, I always enjoy the CHicken Soup books. Favorite movie is Calender Girls or Blindside.
Have a great day!
