Return to Fairy Tales

As I studied this lesson (day four) what hit me is how much this part reminded me of fairy tale living.  The men seemed to live in a fairy tale land where they expected the women to do what they wanted... when they wanted it.  They go on to think that making a decree would make it so.  Somehow I seriously doubt their drunken decree worked out for them!  Maybe outwardly, but not in places (like the bedroom for example - sorry Janie) where their real worlds existed.

And back to reality, it made me think about how I'll make up a fairy tale ending for situations of my life as well.  I can issue a decree; "oh it will be so much fun!" or "oh, that sounds scary!" or "I couldn't do that!" only to find out it turns out differently than I'd planned.  And I am usually sober :-0 So, guess I can't fault the guys so much.

What is coming, I think, is that we are going to see how God makes a fairy tale life to a real life and writes the story with His love entwined in every line.

to me its more like the guys got a bruise ego. They were drunk and they don't take a turn down well..I know many of us have had a time when our significant other has had one to many and come home late and wanted us to be "in the mood" and we are not..we are mad that they are home late and they have had to much to drink so they have to stay out on the couch. Lucky i don't have to deal with a angry drunk and never had but imagine the women that do. Some one who is irrational and wont take no as an answer.
So to me its not so much as a fairy tale but a reality that still happens to women to this very day.

You definitely have a point, Jen. Interesting that in just a few verses, in a little book, the Word tells us that drinking leads to "stinkin thinkin".
